Random Thoughts During Covid Isolation

I currently have Covid. I initially thought it was the flu, but after realizing every test I took at home was expired and having new tests delivered in the dead of night, I found out I have whatever variant is making its way through New York at the moment.
As I'm dealing with pretty heavy brain fog, a scratchy throat, and a fever that ping pongs between 98 and 102.5, I made some random notes on Obsidian as I continued to work throughout the day, which I will paste in full below:
- Cheers really goes off the rails when Diane leaves, but it's not a bad show. It becomes a not-so-great show in season 9 and 10, where it gets a little bit long in the tooth, but the finale is amazing.
- Frasier is possibly a better show overall, but Frasier Crane is the least interesting character on the show. (I am currently rewatching both Cheers and Frasier.)
- The State is just as good as Mr. Show. Sometimes worse, sometimes better. It was made by 22 year olds fresh out of NYU. (My favorite recurring segment is the Old Fashioned Guy, and my favorite sketch is "Service with a Smile," which is currently not on YouTube.)
- That said, this Mr. Show sketch is one of the greatest bits to air on TV. ("It was for charity!")
- My favorite sketch comedy episode of all time? The finale to Upright Citizens Brigade, which features a behind-the-scenes-look at Pro Thunderball. ("It's better to keep a handgun in the outfield than under a mattress where a child can reach it.")
- Lemon-Lime Gatorade is way worse for you than Liquid IV, but it tastes so damn good.
- Oprah, Jenna, and Reese pick some really good books — more often than not — but shops in Brooklyn barely carry them due to the stigma of having a book from a daytime talk show. That's so goofy! These are good books! The Names by Florence Knapp was an excellent read and you can't find it in any store in NYC.
- I saw the ISS pass over my neighborhood tonight.
